Went in for lunch, ordered the lunch special #4 a enchilada and tostada. Service was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. My meal came and it was only a tostada... brought this to the attention of my server who said "Oh that's strange" I said it was no problem and finished my meal. When the server brought my check, he said oh I deducted the enchilada from your ticket, and informed me it was a 51 cent deduction . Not that I will ever go back there... Though if I do, I will ask for the 51 cent enchilada!

This place has the best fajitas and raspberry margaritas in the whole state of Washington. Dont skip over this place!

We arrived a little less than an hour before closing on an overnight trip to Oak Harbor to celebrate my husband's birthday. His first wish of the night was granted when we found a Mexican restaurant that was open after 8pm on a Monday night. He enjoyed his meal thoroughly and we never felt rushed. My only caveat is to vegetarians. After many bad experiences with menus labeled "vegetarian," I know well enough now to ask about ingredients and preparation before ordering. According to our very friendly server, Jesus, "vegetarians eat chicken." So their "vegetarian" dishes are all made with chicken broth. When I explained to Jesus that vegetarians DO NOT eat chicken and can become very ill from even cross-contamination, he very graciously made arrangements with the kitchen to provide me with a meal that was safe.Overall, our experience was positive.

Very good food and friendly staff. Family owned. Carney Asada Fajitas were great.

I think this place have the biggest variety of seafood combined with Mexican cooking for Whidbey Island. Pictured is the crab taco salad since they have it pictured on 3 different pages of their menu!! My toddler liked it specially the taco bowl that came with it! Also pictured is their seafood selection! I really think it's a pretty extensive list for our little sleepy town! And they break the monotony of the other Mexican restaurant of the area.

Polite friendly staff. We had an excellent server.food was great with portions that filled us up with leftovers.prices reasonable. The Parking lot is dark at night. there is disabled parking.

Good authentic food, not bad for OH.

They offer great margaritas and the nachos they provide are the cat's pajamas.

Excellent service. Staff always makes you feel welcome. Portions are pretty good & most time you need a take out box! Worth a visit if you are in the mood for some authentic Mexican style dishes.

Atmosphere: clean, friendly staff, typical Mexican reataurant flareFood: LARGE portions, classic authenticReccomend: getting your burrito with shredded beef - YUM!Negative: no queso dip options, the ground beef had an unflattering flavor, and the hard taco was soggy

Friendly staff and nicely decorated interior. Food looked good and was out quickly ( I'm guessing because it was microwaved). Overall wasn't bad but pricey for mediocre food. Small bowl of queso for the chips was $5!

Great Mexican food. LOTS of choices; ample (take home too) portions; reasonable prices.

I am very disappointed with the chicken tortilla soup. I tried theirs tonight thinking that perhaps their version might be better than El Cazador's. I was wrong. First of all, I dont appreciate that the tortillas are already in the soup. I like mine with some crunch for texture. Second of all, where's the cilantro? Where are the onions? Those make a huge difference; they're nowhere to be found. Third, I hardly taste salt. Therefore, the flavor is lacking. A whole bowl wasted. Im disappointed, Esteban's. Shame.

Great food and seating. Language barrier tho when asking for specifics about my meal and she started to get edgy with me.

Best on Whidbey, By far !

Food was good and the service was quick, especially considering how busy they were. They cost a bit more than El cazador and I would like to see updated decor and music in the background. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

So were new in town and I've been wanting to go to Al Cazador and everyone I talked to said to go Estebans ! well we did today and we were NOT sorry lol ! My wife had the chicken and mole and I had the beef fajitas . Both dishes were super good I would highly recommend you try them ! The chips came out warm and the salsa was wonderful . All the food was super hot and came out very fast . I was blown away by the flavor of the mole and when I asked the waiter if it was an old family recipe he said " naw it's nothing special " well sir it is something special I guarantee lol ! We will definitely be back to try other dishes ! Thank you for a good meal !

Best Mexican food in Oak Harbor. They actually taste authentic, or as close to it as you can get in a white towns. Ignore El Caz at all costs because El Caz is the most bland food out there. Esteban’s was my saving grace for some good enchiladas and white queso!

Great food good portions. Chips a little thick but tasty. Nachos good for 2 meals! Busy at lunch service timely. Full bar.

Best Mexican in Oak Harbor by far. Large portions, well prepared, quality produce, great service. Fish tacos are very good. The menu also includes several dishes with up to 5 seafood ingredients (calamari, crab, cod, shrimp, scallops) where seafood is a main ingredient in generous portions. Mole is very fine - I was impressed by the chicken mole. Chips are fresh as is the salsa.

Food was blander than most Mexican place I've visited. Service was good.

Stopped in for a quick bite before a movie. Didn't really know what to expect but was honestly surprised. I had the shredded beef tostada and it was awesome. The salsa they serve is good too, not too spicy and great taste. They also run monster margaritas on special throughout the day so be sure to ask about happy hour. Otherwise, good aesthetics, clean, nice staff, good food. No issues here. They have an awesome bar set up in the back.

The food and service has always amazing here!

Very nice staff. The food feels authentic and tastes great to me! It doesn't have that "american" spin off taste like most "latin" food spots have now a days.
Dennis Murphy
The food was wonderful as usual. My portion was enough for 2 meals. I finished it sunday for lunch. Thank you.
Tami Baublitz
Fast and good food. Great margaritas. Shared an enchilada platter. Mmmm! Love that it is right next door to the theater we were going to! Happy nice service and clean. Bathrooms are big and roomy and easy wheelchair access!

Their menu has changed again, lesser choices, but the meal and service is still great. We prefer Esteban's to El Caz all day, every day.
Brittany Stockton
It's pretty good, the steak ranchero was not what I am use to...I ate none of the meat but everything else was good.

We've eaten here a few times and every time the service is very fast and friendly. Great portion sizes. Tonight I had the flauta plate and it was delicious. The only meat I've had is chicken. Both the chicken breasts and the shredded chicken are very well seasoned. Also, great chips and salsa!
